But did the Watchtower stand defiantly against Hitler with the rank and file? http://www.jwfacts.com/watchtower/hitler-nazi.php

Hi there. I'm aware 2 Timothy 3 described the last days. Paul's last letter was written to encourage Christians in his day and warn them of what was to come shortly.. It was written years before 70 CE, when the jewish system of things ended, so it could have referred to the last few years before the end. The purpose of this thread is to show that the ' end of the system of things' came about within the 'generation' of Jesus' day, just as he clearly stated. Unless you can prove that Paul's words in 2 Timothy 3 could only apply to today? After all, you know that people have possessed the traits spoken of there throughout history, so what does that scripture prove as to the last days being in our period of time, right now? It could have applied to 66-70 ce, if you know anything about the first Jewish revolt? I suggest that you research what happened during it, all of Jesus' words were fulfilled. Thanks for replying. http://bible.cc/matthew/24-7.htm

http://bible.cc/matthew/24-7.htm -- 'Barnes' Notes on the Bible Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom - At Caesarea the Jews and Syrians contended about the right to the city, and twenty thousand of the Jews were slain. At this blow the whole nation of the Jews was exasperated, and carried war and desolation through the Syrian cities and villages. Sedition and civil war spread throughout Judea; Italy was also thrown into civil war by the contests between Otho and Vitellius for the crown. And there shall be famines - There was a famine foretold by Agabus Acts 11:28 , which is mentioned by Tacitus, Suetonius, and Eusebius, and which was so severe in Jerusalem, Josephus says, that many people perished for want of food, Antiq. xx. 2. Four times in the reign of Claudius (41-54 a.d.) famine prevailed in Rome, Palestine, and Greece. Pestilences - Raging epidemic diseases; the plague, sweeping off multitudes of people at once. It is commonly the attendant of famine, and often produced by it.A pestilence is recorded as raging in Babylonia, 40 a.d. (Josephus, Antiq. xviii. 9. 8); in Italy, 66 a.d. (Tacitus 16. 13). Bothof these took place before the destruction of Jerusalem. Earthquakes - In prophetic language, earthquakes sometimes mean political commotions. Literally, they are tremors or shakings of the earth, often shaking cities and towns toruin. The earth opens, and houses and people sink indiscriminately to destruction. Many of these are mentioned as preceding the destruction of Jerusalem. Tacitus mentions one in the reign of Claudius, at Rome, and says that in the reign of Nerothe cities of Laodicea, Hierapolis, and Colosse were overthrown, and the celebrated Pompeii was overwhelmed and almost destroyed by an earthquake, Annales, 15. 22. Others are mentioned as occurring at Smyrna, Miletus, Chios, and Samos. Luke adds, "And fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven," Luke 21:11 . Josephus, who had probably never heard of this prophecy, and who certainly would have done nothing designedly to show its fulfillment, records the prodigies and signs which He says preceded the destruction of the city. A star, says he, resembling a sword, stood over the city, and a comet that continued a whole year. At the feast of unleavened bread, during the night, a bright light shone round the altar and the temple, so that it seemed to be bright day, for half an hour. The eastern gate of the temple, ofsolid brass, fastened with strong bolts and bars, and which had been shut with difficulty by twenty men, opened in the night of its own accord. A few days after that feast, He says, "Before sunsetting, chariots and troops of soldiers in their armor were seen running about among the clouds, and surrounding of cities." A great noise, as of the sound of a multitude, was heard in the temple, saying, "Let us remove hence." Four years beforethe war began, Jesus, the son of Ananus, a plebeian and a husbandman, came to the feast of the tabernacles when the city was in peace and prosperity, andbegan to cry aloud, "A voice from the east, a voice from the west, a voice from the four winds, a voice against Jerusalem and the holy house, a voice against the bridegroom and the brides, and a voice against this whole people!" He was scourged, and atevery stroke of the whip He cried,"Woe, woe to Jerusalem!" This cry, Josephus says, was continued every day for more than seven years, until He was killed in the siege of the city, exclaiming, "Woe, woe to myself also!" - Jewish Wars, b. 6 chapter 9, section 3.' -- And here's something that YOU may have overlooked.. http://ecclesia.org/truth/mat08.html Matthew 24:34 (NKJV) "Assuredly,I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place." Jesus here, very plainly and very clearly, tells His disciples that ALL of the things he had mentioned would come to pass in THEIR GENERATION . This includes the gospel being preached in all the world, the abomination of desolation, the great tribulation, and the coming of the Son of man.' 'God calls 40 years a generation in Numbers 32:13 and in Hebrews 3:8-10.' These are just a few highlights, I recommend that you check the pages yourself. Thanks for replying, though. :)

Spooky Slumber Party Games: Bloody Mary, Light As a Feather, Ouija & Spoon Bending
by headisspinning ini bought a book for my daughter called 'the daring book for girls'.
it's really cool and has lots of fun stuff in it but there's a section on slumber parties where they describe a few games.
this has opened up some questions for me.... the first game described is 'bloody mary'.

The examples everyone has given on this thread highlight yet another hypocrisy -- http://www.thefreedictionary.com/_/dict.aspx?word=half-truth 'half-truth (h f tr th , häf -) n. A statement, especially one intended to deceive, that omits some of the facts necessary for a full description or account.' This is the best I can do for now, I've been through the index but most references to studying/ministry with others children are carefully worded, as in 'invite them along with your family/to a family study'. Hope this helps-- Family happiness chapter 9 pages 114-115: 'Christian men can help out in other ways. The righteous man Job said: '' I would rescue...the fatherless boy and anyone that had no helper.'' (Job 29:12) Some Christian men today likewise take a wholesome interest in fatherless children and show genuine ''love out of a clean heart,'' having no ulterior motives. (1 Timothy 1:5) Without neglecting their own families, they might occasionally arange to work with such young ones in the Christian ministry and might also invite them to share in family study or recreation.' km 11/03 page 3 Question Box 'It is the responsibility of Christian parents to study with their children. Those who need assistance in establishing or improving their family study may ask the elders for help. If circumstances make it advisable for another publisher to conduct a Bible study with an unbaptized son or daughter of a Christian family associated with the congregation, the presiding overseer or service overseer should be consulted. If such a study is approved, the one conducting it may report it just as he or she would any other Bible study.' km 12/75 page 8 paragraph 5 'Though their parents may not be interested, many youths are. One fourteen-year-old boy wrote to the Society requesting a visit from one of Jehovah's witnesses.'
